Dick Van Dyke is just so damn wholesome and pure. This video is incredibly moving to watch. Just try not to feel something.
The weather has finally started to turn in Seattle. We’ve officially hit ‘The Grey’. That time of year when it’s consistently 45° for a high temp every day. When we’ll have week long stretches of intermittent rain. And when all the California transplants regret moving this far north.
In between all the grey and the rain though, there are still moments of beauty to be found. Moments when the rain stops and the clouds part and the sheer majesty of fall in the PNW is put on display.
Looking south down the Duwamish Waterway towards Mt Rainier at sunrise. Admiring the view of Downtown from Kerry Park. Looking out towards Elliot Bay from Pike Place. Walking through the hidden gem that is Waterfall Garden Park.
After the events of this last week I’ve needed to take some extra time to shut out the fear, the anxiety, and the hopelessness I’ve felt and just appreciate the beauty around me. It hasn’t been easy, but I’m in a better place than I was the night of November 5th.
Here’s to everyone trying to get better.

Elon Musk, the free speech absolutist, is actively blocking any posts made on X that contain links to the hacked JD Vance dossier. That’s the nice thing about having a place of your own to post. The dossier is linked below.
Thomas Gabriel is the eldest grandchild of Johnny Cash, and recently a video of him covering Folsom Prison Blues went viral on TikTok.
I’m amazed at how similar he sounds to his grandfather. It’s not perfect, but I think if you close your eyes and just listen to it, most people would be shocked to learn it’s not Cash himself.
I included the video here as well, so if you’re like me and want nothing to do with TikTok, watch away.
Kudos to Michael Clair of MLB for this heartwarming story about finding the joy of baseball in even the most remote of locations. Add in those spectacular photographs from Matthew DeSantis, and this is easily my favorite news story of the week.
This is turning into a place just to post beautiful photos and I’m completely ok with that.

I swear, this has to be one of the most beautiful places on earth.

The sun rising over the city. The fog rolling into Elliot Bay. Kerry Park really does offer one of the best vantage points in all of Seattle.
