The weather has finally started to turn in Seattle. We’ve officially hit ‘The Grey’. That time of year when it’s consistently 45° for a high temp every day. When we’ll have week long stretches of intermittent rain. And when all the California transplants regret moving this far north.
In between all the grey and the rain though, there are still moments of beauty to be found. Moments when the rain stops and the clouds part and the sheer majesty of fall in the PNW is put on display.
Looking south down the Duwamish Waterway towards Mt Rainier at sunrise. Admiring the view of Downtown from Kerry Park. Looking out towards Elliot Bay from Pike Place. Walking through the hidden gem that is Waterfall Garden Park.
After the events of this last week I’ve needed to take some extra time to shut out the fear, the anxiety, and the hopelessness I’ve felt and just appreciate the beauty around me. It hasn’t been easy, but I’m in a better place than I was the night of November 5th.
Here’s to everyone trying to get better.
